During your stay, you can fully enjoy the bounty of nature. Our abundant permaculture vegetable gardens and food forest offer you the chance to literally get a taste of a more self-sufficient life. After the educational harvest tour, you can cook your delicious local meal in the communal natural outdoor kitchen on the wood-fired cooker, in the loam oven or on the grill over the campfire.
A connecting campfire, the beautiful starry sky and a deep night's sleep later, you wake up to the incredible chirping of the birds.
We deliberately keep our campsite small so everyone has their own 'spot of peace' in nature. The communal outdoor kitchen and campfire area are ideal for connecting with fellow campers and inspiring each other.
The village has a bakery, butcher/grocer, restaurant and cafe. If you just can't get enough of our fresh fruit and vegetables, you can also take a package home with you. L' île de Bambecque is a project on an active 18th-century farmstead in French Flanders, near the Westhoek, just across the border in the French village of Bambecque. On this farm, we are developing an eco-social project where we create a home for everyone. This is why we choose democratic prices.
We are building sustainable self-sufficiency and would like to walk this path together with our visitors. We reconnect people and nature on several levels. We would like to offer people an all-natural experience. Therefore, we open our gates for people to camp and stay here in peace and nature.
